NVD description

GNU Bash through 4.3 processes trailing strings after function definitions in the values of environment variables, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted environment, as demonstrated by vectors involving the ForceCommand feature in OpenSSH sshd, the mod_cgi and mod_cgid modules in the Apache HTTP Server, scripts executed by unspecified DHCP clients, and other situations in which setting the environment occurs across a privilege boundary from Bash execution, aka "ShellShock." NOTE: the original fix for this issue was incorrect; CVE-2014-7169 has been assigned to cover the vulnerability that is still present after the incorrect fix.

Shellshock (CVE-2014-6271) — the name says it all 😂. It targets Bash, and here’s the catch: CGI scripts can be written in different languages, but Bash-based CGI scripts are vulnerable. So, static pages or safer CGI languages can help reduce the risk. https://t.co/f3plOsjwcD

    Post summary

The post briefly explains Shellshock (CVE‑2014‑6271) and suggests avoiding Bash‑based CGI scripts as a mitigation.

@unrandomxddddd @YoshikoJanai @Calomby @wisplite @Not_Prasar @grok Well, from your answer we can infer you do not know what a cite is. It's the name of a thing (Goodnight Moon) and not instructions on how to get it (children's section at B&N, dipshit) CVE-2014-6271 is a cite. It identifies a unique document from an authority. It's shellshock.

@unrandomxddddd @YoshikoJanai @Calomby @wisplite @Not_Prasar @grok I think you might be confused dude, I didn't cite "twitter." I gave the names of the vast categories of attacks. Look them up! One that comes to mind would be CVE-2014-6271, classic blind injection. The more you know about the interior environment in conjunction, the better.

    Post summary

The tweet references CVE-2014-6271 as a blind injection vulnerability but offers no actionable details, PoC, exploit, patch, or evidence of active exploitation.
