NVD description

Affected devices do not properly sanitize comment fields contained in imported trace files before rendering them on the Trace page. This could allow an attacker to social engineer an authorized user who holds the function right “Read diagnostics” into importing a specially crafted trace file. Successful exploitation could allow attacker-controlled JavaScript to execute in the user’s browser session and perform PLC operations through the web server within the scope of the user’s authorization.

Siemens disclosed three CVSS 9.6 flaws in SIMATIC Drive Controller CPU 1504D TF (CVE-2026-63350, CVE-2026-63353, CVE-2026-63354). Trick someone with Read diagnostics into importing a malicious trace file and attacker JS runs in their browser session, enough to drive PLC actions as that user. Patch from the Siemens advisory and lock down who can import diagnostics traces. https://thecircuitry.to/article/siemens-discloses-three-critical-flaws-in-simatic-drive-controller-mv6j8l87
